With a focus on avian ecology, her research includes studies on bird communities, wetland ecosystems, and the conservation of threatened species.

At SACON, Vijayan has held leadership roles and has been involved in various research programs that assess the impact of environmental changes on bird populations and the conservation of specific bird species, including endemic and migratory birds under threat due to habitat loss and fragmentation.
Vijayan has helped shape conservation policies and raised awareness about the need to protect fragile ecosystems in India. She has actively collaborated with international conservation efforts and advocated for sustainable environmental practices. She continues to mentor young scientists while promoting community-based conservation initiatives.</dc:description><dc:rights xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">In Process</dc:rights><dc:subject xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Andaman teal</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Ecological isolation</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Field Ornithology</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Invasive species</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Remote Sensing</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Sustainable Development</dc:subject><dc:subject xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Wetland Ecosystems</dc:subject><dc:coverage xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Keoladeo National Park (India)</dc:coverage><dc:relation xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Oral History: Ecology and Conservation, OH-003</dc:relation></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
