    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Nirmal Gupta worked with All India Radio /Doordarshan at the Vigyan Bhavan Base production Cetre  for SITE (Satellite Instructional Television Experiment) from 1975. Here he was part of a production team that made rural programmes from Bihar, MP and Rajasthan, which was then telecast from Ahmedabad via satellite.
He joined  CENDIT in 1978, and has worked for 47 years in Audio Visual  media, before scaling down in the 2020s to a few jobs a year. He has worked in television maintenance and production in analog and digital technologies, and has in the last two decades, also worked with international TV channels.</p>  </bioghist>

<p>This photo collection created by Nirmal Gupta dates from 1984 to late 1990s and features him at work in a range of studio and field settings. Several photos show him in his preferred role as a cinematographer, showing video equipment of the times and other members of the AV crew. Another set of photographs of him show him working on multi camera indoor shoots with live audiences, or with music / dance performances. A sequence of outdoor photographs show him with camera crew on a boat during a shoot, with video equipment of the era visible.</p>  </scopecontent>

ALTTC center erected a video studio and purchased the studio equipment. But they had no trained staff for the equipment they had purchased. At that time CENDIT was the only organization had expertise in video production in India. So they were called train to their officers and technical staff regarding equipment use and
video production. The serial encourages rural literacy. The shooting of this serial was done in Sikar (Rajasthan). It was a docudrama in which a illiterate person is shown facing difficulties in every field of life. Finally he join classes in the evening with all elderly people aged 50+. in the end of the programme he is shown laughing and says 'meri to zindagi hi badal gai' (my life has changed).
