The Establishment Office also supervises the recruitment of staff and faculty, and releases advertisements to the same effect. The office also takes care of the joining formalities. It looks after effective supervision of transport facilities. The office annually reviews the performance of temporary staff. With respect to students, the office is responsible for their joining dates with medical letters and opening of files in their names. It supports students and staff members by providing certificates and other documentations as and when required by them. It looks after the financial support extended by NCBS to students to attend conferences and seminars abroad.
The Establishment office prepares pay bills for regular staff, Pachmarhi staff, plan and non-plan fellowships, extramural grants and temporary staff.
The records of faculty, minutes of the Steering Committee and the Project Management Committee are included in this collection of the Establishment office. As of 2019, the faculty files are related to those of Obaid Siddiqi, K.S. Krishnan and Veronica Rodrigues. These records include dates of their joining TIFR or NCBS, letters conveying extension of their tenures, official correspondence carried out by the faculty with external government agencies.
